Understanding of Gratuity and Severance Pay

Good morning Sir, I would like to get an understanding of gratuity and severance pay should an employee be made redundant within the first 3 year of employment. Is Gratuity a compulsory obligation met out by an organization who has made an employee redundant or does it depend from company to company? What is legal severance pay that should be paid out as per the UAE labor law? Appreciate a clarification on the above. Thank you Kind regards, Quincy
